Who's driving

You’re getting in a tuk tuk with a stranger. So — hello.

I’m Tiago. I grew up here in Albufeira, and I’ve spent the last four years driving people round this coast.

Most people fly here, spend a fortune, and never get more than four hundred metres from the hotel. Six days by the pool, one night on the strip, and the only photo they’re all in is the one at the airport. That’s the bit I mind.

So I keep it small. One tuk tuk, your group only, no fixed departure and no clipboard. If the kids want twenty minutes in the sea at São Rafael, we stop. If you want to sit at Castelo until the light goes, we sit. And I take the photos while you’re doing it, because somebody always ends up behind the camera and misses every picture of the holiday.

Bora just means “let’s go”. It’s what I say when everyone’s finally in.

Great day seeing plenty of sights with Tiago. The music and horns on the Tuk Tuk kept the kids entertained in between destinations. And the Secret beach was an amazing place to visit!

Every one of these is a verified booking on GetYourGuide, where you can read them all. I’ve only just started asking people to leave one on Google too, so there aren’t many there yet — I’d rather point you at the real ones than pretend there are hundreds.

The tours

One tuk tuk. Three ways round.

Every one is private, starts at your door, and the photos are included. The only real question is how long you’ve got.

90 minutes · Evenings

The Golden Hour

The old town, the fishermen's beach and three clifftop viewpoints, timed so you're standing at the best one when the sun goes down.

  • Pau da Bandeira
  • Praia dos Pescadores
  • Praia do Peneco
  • Sunset at the cliffs
  • Toilet stop: Not needed — we're never more than ten minutes from town.
39per person · kids €19.5

3 hours · Any time

The Secret Beaches

Seven beaches east and west of town, including two with nowhere to park — which is why most people never see them. Swim stops if you fancy it. Towels on board.

  • Praia de São Rafael
  • Praia do Castelo
  • Praia dos Arrifes
  • Olhos de Água
  • Praia da Falésia
  • Toilet stop: Yes — at Olhos de Água, about two thirds of the way round.
65per person · kids €32.5

4.5 hours · Mornings

The Other Algarve

Twenty minutes inland and the resort disappears. A Moorish castle, a Roman bridge, and a village with a waterfall running through it. This is the Portugal people fly home wishing they'd seen.

  • Paderne Castle
  • The Roman bridge
  • Alte village & waterfall
  • Medronho tasting at a family still
  • Toilet stop: Two — at Paderne and again in Alte village.
82per person · kids €41

More than six of you?

I’ll bring a second tuk tuk and a driver I’ve known for years, same price each. Whole days and villa pickups too — tell me the numbers and I’ll price it properly.

Included on every tour

You’ll be in the photos for once.

Somebody always ends up behind the camera and misses every picture. So I stop at the right spots and take them for you — 15 to 20 shots, on your WhatsApp the same evening.

  • Free. Nothing to sign up to, no watermark, no upsell on the day.
  • Yours to print, post and send to whoever you like.
  • Sent the same evening, every time — that’s the promise.
  • And one printed there and then, to take away with you.

Two promises, so there’s nothing to risk.

Rained off? Move it, or get your money back

The sides come down, so drizzle is nothing. But if the weather's genuinely against us, you choose — another day that suits you, or a full refund. If you're flying home, it's a refund. I decide nothing.

The first hour is free if you're not glad you came

An hour in, if you're not enjoying it, say the word. I'll drive you back to your hotel and you pay nothing at all. No forms, no argument, no partial refund.

Free · nothing to pay

A week in Albufeira without a hire car.

Seven days, planned out. Which beaches you can walk to and which you genuinely can’t, where to eat that isn’t the strip, what to do when it rains, and what a taxi should cost before someone charges you double.

I wrote it because I get asked the same things every week. Tell me roughly when you’re coming and I’ll send the version that’s right for your dates.

When are you here? Pick a month and I’ll send it.

Before you book

Questions people actually ask.

How much is a tuk tuk tour in Albufeira?

The 90-minute Golden Hour sunset run is €39 per person. The three-hour Secret Beaches tour is €65, and the four-and-a-half-hour inland tour is €82. Children aged 3 to 11 are half price and under-threes go free. Every tour is private — just your group.

Do you pick up from my hotel?

Yes, free, anywhere in Albufeira — including Albufeira Old Town, Areias de São João, Praia da Oura, Montechoro, Santa Eulália, Balaia, Olhos de Água. Send me the property name and I'll tell you exactly where to stand.

Are the tours private?

Always. You'll never share the tuk tuk with strangers and there's no fixed departure to keep up with. Up to six of you in one vehicle; more than that and I'll bring a second driver.

Can you take a wheelchair or someone with limited mobility?

There are two steps up into the tuk tuk. I can help you transfer and fold a chair into the back, and some routes work better than others. Message me with what you need and I'll be honest about whether it'll work — I'd rather tell you no than have you waste a morning.

Is it safe for small children and babies?

[[ Confirm the passenger restraint rules with Câmara Municipal de Albufeira and state them here exactly. Do not publish vague reassurance — persona research shows parents read it as an alarm. ]]

What if it rains?

The sides come down, so light rain is no problem. If it's genuinely wet I'll move you to another day free, or refund you in full if you're flying home.

Do you run in winter?

Yes, all year. The inland tour is honestly better out of season — there's nobody there and you don't need beach weather for it. I bring blankets from November.

Is there a toilet stop?

On the three-hour tour, yes, at Olhos de Água. On the inland tour there are two, at Paderne and in Alte. The 90-minute sunset run doesn't need one — we're never more than ten minutes from town.

Are the photos really free?

Yes. I take 15 to 20 shots on the tour and send them to your WhatsApp the same evening. No charge, no catch, and you can do whatever you like with them.

How far ahead should I book?

Two or three days in July and August. Same day is usually fine the rest of the year. Sunset slots go first everywhere in the Algarve — there's only one golden hour a day — so message me as soon as you land if that's what you're after.

What languages do you speak?

English, Portuguese and Spanish.

We're more than six. Can you still take us?

Yes. I work with drivers I've known for years, so groups of eight, twelve or twenty travel together as one booking at the same price each. Message me with the number.
