The Secret Beaches
Seven beaches east and west of town, including two with nowhere to park — which is why most people never see them. Swim stops if you fancy it. Towels on board.
€65per person · children 3–11 €32.50
Where we go
- Praia de São Rafael
- Praia do Castelo
- Praia dos Arrifes
- Olhos de Água
- Praia da Falésia
The practical bits
- Toilet stop
- Yes — at Olhos de Água, about two thirds of the way round.
- Getting in and out
- Two steps up into the tuk tuk, and some of the beaches have steps down to the sand. Message me with what you need and I'll be straight with you about which stops work.
- Children
- Seatbelts on every seat, and everyone wears one. If your little one is too small for a belt, message me before you book.
- Youngest
- No minimum, but talk to me first about babies and toddlers.
- Time of year
- All year, though the swim stops are really April to October.
- If the weather turns
- The sides come down, so light rain is fine. If it's genuinely wet I'll move you to another day or refund you in full if you're flying home.
- Group size
- Up to 6 of you in one tuk tuk. More than that and I bring a second driver, same price each.
What I promise
- I'll be there, or you don't pay
- Outside your hotel at the time we agreed. If I'm more than fifteen minutes late and haven't messaged you, the tour's free. You're booking a stranger in a foreign country — that shouldn't be the thing you're worrying about.
- Weather's rubbish? We move it
- Not a refund, a better day — as many times as you like while you're here, at no charge. The sides come down so drizzle is nothing, but I'm not driving you round in the wet and calling it a holiday. If you fly home before we manage it, you get your money back.
- Your pace, not my timetable
- If the kids want another twenty minutes in the sea, we stay. I've never once cut a tour short to get back for the next one, and I'd rather run three good ones a day than six rushed ones.
